Ribery set to snub Chelsea to stay with 'fun' Bayern Munich

13 April 2012

Franck Ribery insists he has no plans to quit Bayern Munich despite being identified as one of Chelsea's three main transfer targets.

Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon has already made contact with the German club after the France midfielder helped Bayern to the treble in his debut season since moving from Marseille.

The 25-year-old's performances in both the Bundesliga and UEFA Cup, where Bayern reached the semi-finals, caught the eye throughout Europe.

But Ribery told the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung: "I signed a four-year contract when I arrived at Bayern a year ago and there is a good chance I will fulfil it.

"I have so much fun at this club - it is like Marseille multiplied by 10."

Ribery has emerged as one of Chelsea's top three transfer targets this summer - AC Milan midfielder Kaka and Liverpool striker Fernando Torres are the others - but Chelsea will have to pay in excess of £31million to sign the France midfielder.

Bayern will not make a decision on an approach until the end of Euro 2008.
