Roman lands five-year Spurs deal

12 April 2012

Tottenham have confirmed to the Stock Exchange that Russia international striker Roman Pavlyuchenko has signed a five-year contract with the club.

The 26-year-old has moved to White Hart Lane from Spartak Moscow for a fee of 17million Euros (£14million) as Juande Ramos strengthened his attacking options before the close of the transfer window.

Pavlyuchenko, who has been capped 22 times by Russia, began his career with FC Dinamo Stavropol before moving to FC Rotor Volgograd in the top flight in 2000.

He switched to Spartak Moscow in 2003 and topped the goalscoring charts in Russia's Premier League in 2006 and 2007.
