Danny Care believes England are ready to unleash "something special" against Scotland on Saturday.

The team's attacking play has been heavily criticised during the Six Nations but team manager Martin Johnson has given the back division a final chance to prove the doubters wrong.

Scrum-half Care said: "We have shown glimpses but have lacked a clinical edge and we are working hard on the training pitch on the moves we want to use.

"When it does click it is going to be something really special and hopefully we will see a bit of that on Saturday. It's great that the backs have been selected again because you are never going to improve with chopping and changing all the time."

Care has a new rival for his place in the XV after Leicester's Ben Youngs won his first call-up to the squad this week, earning a place on the bench for Murrayfield.

"Ben has been playing really well and it was hard for the selectors to ignore him," said Care.

"Three or four lads want to take that No9 shirt off me which means no one has an easy ride."
