England head coach Eddie Jones has named Elliot Daly in his starting XV ahead of Saturday's first autumn international against South Africa on Saturday.

The Wasps centre will make his first start following five appearances from the bench in 2016. Daly, who made his England bow during the Six Nations Grand Slam success under Jones earlier this year, is a shock inclusion ahead of Bath's Jonathan Joseph.

Joseph had been struggling with a minor groin injury, but the Bath three-quarter was on Wednesday declared fully fit by scrum coach Neal Hatley.

Daly was one of the Aviva Premiership's form players last season with his acceleration and eye for an outside break terrorising defences to Wasps' benefit.

The 24-year-old is one of six changes to the side which completed a whitewash of Australia in the third Test Down Under in June, with Joe Launchbury and Courtney Lawes returning to the second row, Tom Wood at openside flanker and wings Jonny May and Marland Yarde returning.

Meanwhile, uncapped trio Nathan Hughes, Ben Te'o and Kyle Sinckler have all been named as replacements.
