Scotland’s Six Nations match against France on Sunday has been postponed after the whole French squad went into isolation due to another player testing positive for Covid-19.

A total of 11 players and three staff members have now tested positive, including France head coach Fabien Galthie and captain Charles Ollivon.

Six Nations organisers met on Thursday morning to discuss the matter and it was decided the game in Paris on Sunday would be postponed.

A statement read: “The Six Nations Testing Oversight Group [has] unanimously recommended the postponement of the France v Scotland match. This will be ratified later today by the Six Nations Council. We will be working on the rescheduling of this fixture.”

Scotland had been keen for the game to go ahead, as a postponement could mean more than 10 squad members are unavailable for the rearranged match due to their player-release agreement with clubs.

A date for when the game can be played will now have to be found, with talks on the matter due to take place later on Thursday.
