Lead role: Luke Narraway, in training this week, will captain England in their match against the Barbarians

Gloucester No8 Luke Narraway will lead England in their non-cap match against the Barbarians at Twickenham on Sunday but the rest of the team has not been named because of injury concerns.

Northampton Saints scrum-half Lee Dickson was last night ruled out of the game and next month's Churchill Cup to have surgery on a shoulder injury.

Head coach Stuart Lancaster said: "We've got injuries to assess and we'll have a look at some potential replacements in training today against the England Under-20 side. Another 24 hours will give us time to finalise the squad before we move to Pennyhill Park and train at Twickenham on Friday."

Meanwhile, former Saracens outside-half Glen Jackson will take charge of his first game as a referee in New Zealand's Super Rugby on Friday night.

Jackson, who has been acting as an assistant referee, said: "It is a thankless job. If you get it right, nobody notices but get it wrong and you're a villain."
