Matt Giteau says he's facing World Cup snub

Snubbed: Giteau wrote on his Twitter account that he's not likely to make World Cup squad

Matt Giteau looks set to miss out on the World Cup after suggesting on his Twitter page he has not made the cut for Australia's squad.

The Wallabies are due to name their 30-man group tomorrow but the 92-cap fly-half broke ranks this morning to suggest his omission in a couple of messages.

"Thank u ballboys, thank u linesman? That's it..." he wrote.

Fours hours later, he tweeted: "Really wanna thank everyone for the support! Was a huge honour to get the chance to represent my country as often as I did #veryprivileged."

Giteau's World Cup spot has been under threat following the shock loss to Samoa last month. That was his last appearance for the Wallabies, who have since played three Tri-Nations Tests.

Given that the 28-year-old will join French side Toulon after the World Cup, his international career could now be over.

Coach Robbie Deans was due to tell players today whether they were in the squad for the World Cup, which begins in New Zealand next month.
