Tom Varndell to find out fate over injury

Standard Sport22 January 2014

Wasps wing Tom Varndell will discover today if he has suffered a recurrence of the ruptured bicep injury that ruled him out for the first three months of the season.

Varndell, who has been forced to pull out of the England Saxons squad to face Ireland on Saturday, was hurt after scoring two tries in Wasps’s 64-17 win over Viadana on Sunday.

The 28-year-old (above) was initially injured in September and managed to return to action in December to offset the loss of fellow England and Wasps wing Christian Wade, who will miss the Six Nations Championship due to an ankle problem.
