Sailor to start for Wallabies

13 April 2012

Former League international Wendell Sailor will start in the Australian rugby union team's first match of the season against New Zealand Maori on Saturday.

Sailor was named on the right wing in a new-look side that includes uncapped Queensland lock Nathan Sharpe and several players with little international experience. With more than a third of their regular Test stars, including Stephen Larkham, Ben Tune, Joe Roff, Nathan Grey and David Giffin, all unavailable, selectors have been forced to reshuffle and name some players out of position.

Sailor said: "I'm just very keen to play for the Wallabies.

"It's a dream of mine and hopefully the first step to bigger and better things."
