Saints to face Giants

12 April 2012

Holders St Helens will meet Huddersfield in the semi-finals of the Carnegie Challenge Cup.

It is a repeat of the 2006 final at Twickenham, which Saints won 42-12 to claim the first of three consecutive triumphs.

Warrington will take on Wigan in the other semi-final, to be held on the weekend of August 8 and 9.

Huddersfield coach Nathan Brown, whose side pipped Castleford 16-14 in Sunday's last quarter-final, admits they landed the toughest test from the semi-final draw.

"Whoever we drew was going to be hard," he said. "This is probably the toughest assignment due to the fact that they've won the last three.

"But they're due to lose one, let's hope it's to the Giants. It's a long way off though so we'll enjoy this first and prepare for Hull KR on Friday."
