Scarborough College had their day in the first round scoring eight tries inthe 52-7 defeat of Macmillan College from Middlesbrough but were no matchfor the fancied Hymers, who won their second round game 40-9.

Bryan (3),Hindley, Wheldon and Gill were the try scorers for the Hull team.

King'sTynemouth were also easy winners, 38-0 at King Edward's, Morpeth where thehome side were weakened by injuries.

Next up is a Battle of the Tyne athome to last season's beaten semi-finalists RGS Newcastle.

Heaton Manor,another Newcastle school, were solid and comfortable 36-12 winners overBurnside.

The forwards provided ample ball for the backs to do their stuffand there were two tries apiece for Adam Matheson and Charles Trippett and oneeach for Ronaan Forker and Nobon Choudhury. Matheson kicked threeconversions.

Down in Yorkshire, Paul Baker's late try gave Bingley Grammara 12-11 win against Crossley Heath.
