Sedgefield hopeful despite inspection

12 April 2012

Sedgefield have called an inspection for 7.30am on Boxing Day ahead of their afternoon meeting.

Clerk of the course Charlie Moore is optimistic of racing going ahead but he will check conditions early on Tuesday morning.

"We have been partially frozen for the last four or five days but the course is improving and temperatures are above zero," he said. "We have had frost in places since Monday and it will take a while to come out but I would say we are 60-40 in favour of racing, provided the temperatures don't drop too far. The forecast is encouraging and we will stick to the inspection as it could freeze."
