Sevilla president vows revenge on Tottenham 'paupers' and warns them: Hands off our players

New Tottenham Juande Ramos has been warned to expect a massive backlash from former club Sevilla.

And that includes no prospect at all of raiding the Spaniards for players.

Ramos would like to bring Fredi Kanoute back to White Hart Lane but Sevilla president Jose Maria Del Nido warned the club's former coach that approaches for their star players will not be welcome.

Del Nido, who claims he will lodge a complaint with FIFA over Tottenham's approach, said: "It would take a lot of money to buy Alves and Kanoute and I doubt very much that Tottenham have the money to buy them.

"If they want to buy them in the transfer window they will have to pay their buy-out clause because Sevilla do not want to sell any of their stars.

"Tottenham will get the response from Sevilla that they deserve - and that response will be to channel all our energy into getting what we deserved after they way they have behaved.

"I can assure you that we will pour all our energy and all of our force into making sure that Tottenham pay the consequences of this situation - a situation they have illegitimately provoked.

"We will do everything in our power and use all our means at our disposal to make sure of that."
