Spaniard upstages stars as he takes Tour stage

Juan Antonio Flecha struck a blow for the lesser known riders on the 11th stage of the Tour de France.

The 25-year-old Spaniard unleashed a solo run over the final kilometres into Toulouse.

But with the peloton only 42 seconds behind the winner, Lance Armstrong (above with Arnold Schwarzenegger) retained the overall lead and was relieved not to have needed to exert himself ahead of today's 47km time trial from Gaillac to Cap Decouverte. The American remains 21 seconds ahead of Alexandre Vinokourov.
