Spanish stand in the way of Brazil

14 April 2012

Brazil will meet Spain in the final of the World Youth Championship after both sides recorded 1-0 victories in their semi-finals.

Dudu's second-half header gave Brazil the win over arch rivals and defending champions Argentina, while a penalty by Barcelona's Iniesta in the 86th minute helped Spain through to Friday's final in Dubai, at Colombia's expense.

"I told my players before the game to be careful about Argentina, because they never give up," Brazil coach Marcos Paqueta said. "They play hard until the very end, so we had to keep going until the final whistle."

Brazil will now have a chance to equal Argentina's record of four championship wins. Colombia and Argentina now meet in Friday's third place play-off.
