Aaron Cook gives up fight over taekwondo bid

Aaron Cook today announced he will not take his fight for selection to the GB Olympic taekwondo squad to the High Court.

The world No1 in the under-80kg class was controversially overlooked in favour of Lutalo Muhammad for the Games.

GB Taekwondo denied Cook’s claims that he was omitted because he left their Academy programme.

Cook said: “The financial implications, [of going to the High Court] for me and more importantly for my parents, of doing so are too prohibitive.”
