Games traffic restrictions may be eased

Sections of London's roads reserved for official Olympic traffic could be reopened to the public at quieter periods during the Games.

Transport for London has proposed that access to the "Zil lanes", which form a third of the 109-mile Olympic road network in London, could be made more flexible.

Under current rules, non Olympic vehicles are barred from the lanes typically between 6am and midnight.

West Ham is believed to be one of 16 parties interested in moving to the Olympic stadium after the Games.

The original deal for the Hammers to take over the Stratford venue collapsed amid concerns over delays caused by the legal dispute with Tottenham and Leyton Orient.
