Team GB were celebrating on Monday morning after Adam Peaty landed their first medal of the Rio 2016 Olympics in the 100m breaststroke final.

The 21-year-old beat his own world record to clinch gold in his first Games and end Britain's 28-year-wait for a men's Olympic title in the pool.

Jazz Carlin followed suit shortly after, winning silver with a personal best time in the women's 400m freestyle to leave Team GB eighth in the medals table after day two.
