Stoke offer £1m for Sunderland's Fulop but Keane is holding out for more

13 April 2012

Newly-promoted Stoke City have offered £1 million for Sunderland goalkeeper Marton Fulop.

Black Cats manager Roy Keane is reluctantly prepared to sell the 25-year-old but wants double that amount.

Marton Fulop during his loan spell at Leicester could move to Stoke City on a permanent deal from Sunderland.

He turned down a £500,000 offer from Leicester last season where Fulop spent the campaign on loan and expects Stoke to  increase their offer.

Fulop made his one appearance for Sunderland in the Premier League in the last game of the season against Arsenal.

Grant Leadbitter meanwhile has signed a new three-year dealt at the Stadium of  Light.

The 22-year-old is now Sunderland’s longest serving player and Keane said: “He’s got quality and he’s enthusiastic, he’s a good character. He’s developing and maturing well.”
