Tait on display for Aussies

Shaun Tait has been called into Australia's 13-man squad for next month's three-Test series against Sri Lanka in Darwin and Cairns.


Stuart MacGill, who refused to tour Zimbabwe on moral grounds last month, misses out.

Tait, who replaced the injured Brett Lee for the tour of Sri Lanka earlier this year, played for Australia A against India and Zimbabwe last summer.

Meanwhile, former Test batsman Michael Slater has announced his retirement from cricket at the age of 34.

The former New South Wales and Derbyshire opener, who played in 74 Tests and scored 5,312 runs at an average of 42.8, has had an arthritic complaint.
