Taylor urges risky business

13 April 2012

Newcastle go into Saturday's game against Arsenal with defender Steven Taylor warning his team they must start taking risks if they are to avoid relegation.

Last weekend's 1-1 draw at Hull has left Newcastle 16th in the table and out of the bottom three only by virtue of goal difference.

Although Newcastle follow the Arsenal clash with a game against title-chasing Chelsea, Taylor insists his team must be brave.

"With nine games to go you've got to take the game to the opposition," he said. "Sometimes you have got to take risks, it's a difficult situation we're in.

"The whole season has been a rollercoaster ride but we always seem to come away, sit back and wait for something to happen.

"Once Hull scored the goal, that's what happened - it shouldn't happen like that and it's up to us to change it.

"I'm sick of 'if only this, if only that', we've got to start producing."
