Terry calls for a festive feast of victories

Christmas cheer: Terry wants team mates to pull out the stops
Simon Johnson13 April 2012

John Terry today urged his team-mates to use the busy Christmas period to consolidate their position in the Premier League by claiming three wins, writes Simon Johnson.

The Blues skipper, who will lead his team out at Everton on Monday, said: "We know we need to improve on our recent form if we are to make a success of the season. The good thing is we know we are capable of it and we have shown it with some superb performances — like those against Aston Villa, Middlesbrough and Sunderland."

While still just one point off of the League summit, Chelsea have already dropped 14 points at Stamford Bridge, but Terry is determined not to suffer a repeat of last season's trophy-less ending.

He said: "We are in good positions in the league and the Champions League and we are looking to pick up one of those trophies at least."
