The heat is on Japan

13 April 2012

Japan won't settle for a draw in their final first round game against Tunisia in hot and humid Osaka tomorrow.

Though they need only a point to go through to the next phase, a victory would see the World Cup co-hosts win the group and avoid likely Group C winners Brazil in the next round. Instead, they would play either Costa Rica or Turkey.

"I don't like the heat but there's nothing we can do about that," said Japan's Feyenoord midfielder Shinji Ono. "We expect a very tough match, but we want all three points."

Tunisia need a 2-0 victory to clinch their first qualification.
