(INSIDER'S RATING: 0/5 means this deal's pie in the sky. 5/5 and it's a done deal)

Vedran Corluka, Manchester City to Tottenham - Insider says 4/5

Manchester City have decided the Croatian defender is surplus to requirements at Eastlands. Spurs are looking for defensive versatility and experience and Corluka would fit the bill. While City would expect to deal for a £6.8m the transfer depends on what is left after Tottenham's other deals including their bids for Roman Pavluychenko and Valencia's David Villa.

David Villa, Valencia to Tottenham or Manchester United - Insider says 2/5

Tottenham's revived interest in Villa is common knowledge but the Spanish striker has crept on to United's radar in recent days despite Sir Alex Ferguson's protestions about the future of Frazier Campbell. However with Real Madrid being informed of any move for Villa the danger of being gazumped by the Spanish giants is high and for United the arrival of Tottenham's Dimitar Berbatov is anyway expected in days.

Luke Young, Middlesbrough to Aston Villa - Insider says 4/5

Martin O'Neill has made a move for the former Charlton defender and Villa have proposed a £3m deal. And while Boro are reluctant to sell the player seems keen on a move to Villa Park. Villa thought they may have solved the right back slot when Steve Finnan was part of the move that will take Gareth Barry to Liverpool, however, that now will be a cash only deal and the Irish defender would prefer a move elsewhere.

Nicky Shorey, Reading to Portsmouth  - Insider says 3/5 to Villa - Insider says 4/5

Shorey's switch to the south coast, like Pompey's move for Younes Kaboul, depends on the eventual release of funds from the sale of Sulley Muntari to Inter. Villa are likely to match Reading's valuation but Pompey could still step in.

Louis Saha, Manchester United to Sunderland - Insider says 2/5

The latest in a long line of injuries to the injury-jinxed striker means Roy Keane is likely to look elsewhere in the short-term. Saha has offers from Paris St German and another Premier League club but the latest blow is likely to put any move back.

Alan Smith, Newcastle to Everton - Insider says 1/5

Reports that Everton are considering a move for Newcastle forward Alan Smith, while not impossible, would seem unlikely. David Moyes remains a fan of the player but, particularly with the sale of Andrew Johnson, Everton need a striker that scores goals and Smith has not done that at St James' Park. While a dramatic cut in price might tempt Moyes Everton have other irons in the fire.

Andrejs Pereplotkins, Skonto Riga to Derby - Insider says 5/5

Derby have agreed a one year loan deal with Skonto Riga for Andrejs Pereplotkins. The 22-year-old right winger, who was once on Southampton's books, is a Latvian international and Derby hope to sign him permanently once the loan finishes.
