Admission: Real say they want Ronaldo but there's no proof they've tried to get him

Real Madrid claimed today Manchester United had no evidence that the club are trying to sign Cristiano Ronaldo - just hours after their coach said again he wanted him.

United have reported Real to FIFA over the club's public pursuit of Ronaldo. Real president Ramon Calderon said: "They don't have any evidence because nothing has happened." But coach Bernd Schuster told Spanish paper Marca today: "While he doesn't play for Madrid all we can do is hope, although it's clear he would be a great signing."
