Tight security as US team arrive

The United States squad were met by a vast security force when they arrived in South Korea today.

About 500 police - some armed with automatic weapons and pistols - were on guard at Incheon airport and the team were given a police escort for the hour-long bus ride into Seoul.

Three helicopters flew above the motorcade, which also included police and security forces.

US coach Bruce Arena said: "We anticipated great security - perhaps not to this degree - but I'm not complaining. The Koreans do an outstanding job."
