Ajax coach Frank de Boer has confirmed Tottenham have approached the Amsterdam club to test his interest in a move to London.

In an interview with national broadcaster NOS on Tuesday, De Boer said he had been informed of the Spurs call by Ajax football director Marc Overmars.

He said that until the season ends next week, he's concerned only with Ajax, who clinched the Eredivisie title on Sunday for the fourth consecutive time.

Then, he'll be willing to entertain the possibility of a change, though the 43-year-old coach said he's satisfied at Ajax, his first major coaching job.

"I'm going to listen and talk," he said. "Then I'll make my feelings known."

"I would like to add something to a club, that people can say they see the hand of Frank de Boer.

"There is a beautiful example at Liverpool. That is what Brendan Rodgers is doing now [making his mark]."

Spurs boss Tim Sherwood has already expressed his distaste at other mangers discussing the role he currently occupies, it is unlikely de Boer's comments will have impressed him.
