Trio on charge to be named

St Helens could be one of the trio of clubs who are named for breaching the salary cap rules

Three Super League clubs will be charged on Friday with breaching salary cap regulations in 2006.

But when the trio are named by the RFL they will be able to defend themselves in front of an independent panel before any punishment is imposed.

A points deduction is the biggest threat hanging over the clubs, believed to be Wigan, Bradford and St Helens.

Wigan and Bradford were both deducted two points last season for salary cap breach.

Leeds have agreed a partnership with Australian club South Sydney Rabbitohs.
