Villa poised to complete Hadji deal

13 April 2012

Aston Villa are set to complete the signing of Mustapha Hadji today.

The Moroccan international is due at Villa Park for a medical and is then expected to put pen to paper and seal a move from Coventry, with former England Under-21 striker Julian Joachim moving in the opposite direction.

Hadji scored the winner for his country in their vital World Cup qualifying victory over Egypt last week but has jetted back into Britain to complete the final touches to the deal, which will see him link up with countryman Hassan Kachloul who has also joined Villa from Southampton.

"There were a lot of clubs interested in Mustapha but Villa were always the club he wanted to join," Villa finance director Mark Ansell told the club's official website, www.avfc.co.uk

"We are delighted to have almost wrapped up this deal and it's fair to say we are looking at one or two other things."
