Wenger admits FA charge

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has admitted a charge of improper conduct following his touchline altercation with Alan Pardew.

The Hammers boss has denied a charge of improper conduct for his part in the touchline row between the pair at Upton Park on November 5.

Both managers have requested personal hearings with the Football Association. The charges relate to the row which erupted after Marlon Harewood's late winner and Pardew's goal celebrations.

The two bosses had to be separated following Harewood's dramatic winner for the home side, following celebrations by the West Ham coach in the technical area.

French coach Wenger refused to shake his rival's hand at the end of the match, and left without speaking to the press.

The two managers were charged earlier this month when the FA decided there was a case for the pair to answer.

And Thursday's FA statement said: "Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has admitted a charge of improper conduct in relation to a touchline incident towards the end of the match at West Ham United on November 5.

"West Ham manager Alan Pardew has denied a charge of improper conduct in relation to the same incident.

"Both managers have requested personal hearings, which will be scheduled in due course."
