Wigan claim maiden win

Wigan lifted the pressure on coach Brian Noble by claiming their first engage Super League win of the season at Quins - 24-18.

The hosts led 12-6 at the break thanks to tries from Chad Randall and Matt Gafa, while Shaun Ainscough went over for the Warriors.

But George Carmont, Phil Bailey, Amos Roberts and Ainscough all crossed after the interval to seal the win, despite two further Quins' tries.

Meanwhile, Castleford continued their fine start to the new Super League season with a 52-16 victory over Salford.

Tries from Michael Shenton, Craig Huby, Ryan Hudson, Richard Owen and Joe Westerman had Cas 28-6 up at the break.

Further scores followed from Kirk Netherton, Owen, Ryan McGoldrick and Dean Widders, while Kirk Dixon kicked a personal tally of 16 points as the Tigers romped to victory.
