Witter makes weight

Junior Witter had one pound to spare as he weighed in for his shot at the vacant WBC super lightweight title in California on Saturday night.

Witter, the 35-year-old former WBC champion, tipped the scales at 139 pounds in Rancho Mirage ahead of his fight with undefeated American Devon Alexander - who weighed in at 138.5 pounds.

Topping the bill at the Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa in a 140-pound division title doubleheader, undefeated WBO light-welterweight champion Timothy Bradley weighed in at 139 pounds with the WBO's number one contender and former world lightweight champion Nate Campbell coming in at 138.5 pounds.
