Worthington urges Ireland to kick on
Northern Ireland manager Nigel Worthington is looking for a double bonus next month when his side resume their World Cup qualification campaign.
Worthington wants his team to kick on when they face Slovenia and San Marino following an impressive goalless draw against the Czech Republic at Windsor Park.
He said: "We have another couple of games next month and it's important we reproduce this form. It is as simple as that. We need to pass the ball like we did against the Czechs and keep our discipline and our shape. Then we have a chance of picking up points."
The former Norwich manager added: "We are in a tough group but it was a super performance against a team ranked eighth in the world. We worked really hard and our quality was excellent.
"The discipline and shape of the side was very good. We restricted the Czech Republic to long-range shots.
"There is some disappointment we did not get all three points but I think people could see the belief is there.
"The players got back on their feet and relished the challenge after Saturday. Over the last nine days, between the staff and the players, the work they have put in has been absolutely superb."
