Wyatt quits in cash crisis

13 April 2012

English hockey chief executive Richard Wyatt has resigned after months of pressure regarding the Association's financial position.

The EHA may go into administration next month with debts of more than £700,000 - and with the possibility of a VAT demand for up to £500,000 to come - if on 4 May member clubs vote against a rescue package which requires them to fork out £150 per team.

Wyatt handed in his resignation after a three-hour meeting with EHA president Mike Corby.

"It is a very sad day because I have been responsible for a team of hard-working staff whose future is now in doubt," he said.

Corby revealed Wyatt had offered to quit several months ago.
