Adele has revealed that she would sing on the final of the X Factor – providing the contestants aren’t “rubbish”.

The 27-year-old singer said she would consider performing on the ITV talent show but that it would depend on the calibre of the finalists.

Speaking on Kiss FM, Adele said: “It would have to depend on who’s in the final. It depends who’s in it. If they’re rubbish, then no, I won’t.

“There was Ella Henderson, I used to like. But she didn’t make it at the time. I mean, I was pregnant so I wouldn’t have done it.

“But like, if she was in it this year and she was in the final, I would probably do it with her.”

Adele last week released her first single in three years, Hello, from her forthcoming album, 25.

She smashed Taylor Swift’s current Vevo world record of the most views for a music video in 24 hours with a staggering 27.7 million views.

The black and white video was shot in Quebec, Canada by director Xavier Dolan.

Speaking about Adele he said: "I think she's now saying it made her want to be an actress which is making me so proud because she was so reluctant to do anything close to acting in the first place."
