Katie Taylor believes her meeting with Natasha Jonas poses the biggest threat of her professional career.

The 34-year-old is bidding to keep extend her unbeaten run in the professional ranks to 18 fights in Manchester on Saturday night.

And in a repeat of their meeting from the amateur ranks at the London Olympics nine years ago, she said: “We don’t take any easy fights. I’m in this sport to fight the best and this is my hardest fight to date.”

Taylor was awarded the win back at London 2012 by a scoreline of 26-15 dominating all but the second round of that fight.

But ahead of their fight for the lightweight world titles, Taylor said: “The fight was nine years ago. We’re both very, very different fighters. The fight is going to be totally different to the London Olympics.”

And despite being just a few weeks shy of her 35th birthday, she warned she was still getting better four-and-a-half years on from her pro debut.

“I’ve shown my best in my last few performances,” she said. “I feel like I’m improving and getting better each time.”
