Fulham will face Oldham in the third round of the FA Cup.

Despite their poor start to the Premier League season, which has seen Claudio Ranieri replace Slavisa Jokanovic already, the Cottages will be keen for a cup run to provide a positive strand, having already been knocked out of the League Cup by Manchester City.

The Whites were knocked out of the competition in the third round last season as the then Championship side were beaten 1-0 by Premier League Southampton at Craven Cottage.

In fact, Fulham have not had a proper FA Cup run for some time, last reaching the quarter-finals in 2010 under Roy Hodgson.

They have made the final on just one occasion, losing to London rivals West Ham in 1975 in Bobby Moore’s first season at the club since his move from the Hammers.

Ranieri took Chelsea to the FA Cup final in 2002 but saw his side lose 2-0 to Arsenal at Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.

The tie will be played between December 4-7.
