Tottenham will face Tranmere or Southport in the third round of the FA Cup.

The tie due to be played across the weekend of January 4-7.

Tottenham have reached the FA Cup semi-finals in back-to-back seasons, a feat not achieved since the triumphant 1981-82 side, only to lose to Chelsea and Manchester United at Wembley.

Spurs have won the competition eight times, with only Arsenal and Manchester United victorious on more occasions, but have not lifted the trophy since 1991.

Pochettino and the Tottenham squad will be keen to mount another serious tilt at the trophy as criticism continues over a lack of silverware at the club for over a decade.

Spurs face Arsenal in the League Cup quarter-finals on December 19, having beaten fellow rivals West Ham in the fourth round.
